Enjoy the two tailor-made cuvees "Gaston" with the Nuit-Saint-Georges vintage 2020 made by Maison Henri Gouges and the Beaune 1er Cru vintage 2008 made by Nicolas Rossignol.
NUIT-SAINT-GEORGES “CUVÉE GASTON" 2020
Wine Region: Burgundy - France
Grape: 100% Pinot Noir
Tasting notes: A lovely, brilliant crimson color. A very earthy Nuits nose with some vanilla bean, too. On the palate, smoky, velvet-textured fruit without any tannin, but acids take their place, so the wine is nicely balanced. Not heavy, but a very elegant Pinot expression at the end.
BEAUNE 1ER CRU “CUVÉE GASTON" 2008 - NICOLAS ROSSIGNOL
Wine Region: Burgundy - France
Grape: Pinot Noir
Tasting notes: "From barrel, Rossignol’s 2008 Beaune Reversees is scented with sweetly ripe red raspberry and strawberry that on the palate are joined by tart suggestions of rhubarb and high-toned allusions to distilled berries, all of which project transparency to mineral and carnal nuances along with plenty of refreshment. Cherry pit, peat, blond tobacco, smoked meat, and chalk accent a long, savory finish." - David Schildknecht, The Wine Advocate
About the winery:
Part of the fifth generation, Nicolas joined the family estate in 1994. After a few experiences in the four corners of France and South Africa, he created his own Domaine in 1997. Today, both Domaines are merged, representing 17 hectares and more than thirty appellations. Nicolas believes that the future of wine lies in innovation rather than sticking to the rules of the past. The vineyard is managed sustainably and also takes into account the lunar influence both for the work of the vine and for the development and ageing of the wines.
